some say
trash talk is instrumental
to team-building
bonding
fusing
to
clarity
wholeness
truth

if those theorists
have anything in common
with me and mine
their findings may be skewed

by how marginalization breeds fluency
the way the wounded amass small weapons
and cloak them
sharp in our throats

but this is not
a poem
about objectivity

this
is an experiment
in love

so
as long as our pores
remain deep wells of wanting
the cut of our need
is a renewable resource

which means
the genius of fulfillment
is a material cognate
for your capacity to be "full of it"
and proud

so that along with biodiesel
and solar powered skinshine
composted pixie sticks
and boom box energy

the momentum
the velocity
the volume
the confrontational interia
of discared treasure
